Vera Causa is latin, meaning "true cause". Which means to have a true cause or a true calling in life.
I thought that was a fitting name for a team of working dogs, doing what their true calling is in life. To run !
We are Stina and Mark, we are married, and together we have kennel and team Vera Causa.
Stina is the person home with the dogs, doing all of the everyday stuff and the breeding.
Mark is the trainer and musher.
Our dog journey started many years ago. For me Stina, it startet over 14 years ago when i fell in love with the dobermann breed.
Marks have had dogs all his life, but i had only heard the stories from Marks father of the great dobermann's he had back in the day.
Mark's father owned and trained dobermann's in the danish army in the 70's and 80's. Mark heard these stories all his life, so when the day came for us to get a dog together, it of course had to be a dobermann. By that time i had fallen in love with the storries from Mark's father too.
Be bought our first dobermann, and trained it as a working dog.
To this day, I Stina still have one dobermann that i train, compete and show.
After years with dobermann and many hours in the training world, we at one point found ourselves without a dog for a while. Mark went to the Danish army as a soldier. And when he returned, he didn't want another dobermann. He wanted a dog better suited for ekstreme expedition and outdoor lifestyle he loves.
After a lot of reseach, he chose the Siberian Husky.
So we bought our first husky, and Mark started running with him. After that the pack grew fast, because this kind of sport was exactly what he was looking for.
Mark is an army man to the bone, he loves the expedition life, exstreme weather and conditions and the survival in nature. That is also why it was not a chock when is love fell in long distance racing.
OUR BREEDING:
Our breeding is focused on dogs bred directly for sport. Dogs that have the ability to run in competition level, both in body type and mindset.
We want to breed high energy dogs with a well-balanced mindset.
The basis of our breeding are dogs from old nordic decent where ancestry have proven to be excellent working dogs, running many competitions and with great heath.
We don't make many litters, we only breed when we need new dogs for our own team, so breeding is carefully selected from heath, mentality, physique and working abilities.
We breed dogs for sport and very active lifestyles!
